Treat flexibility as an itinerary decision

Ask which parts of the day can move and which cannot. If a meeting, lodge check-in or onward airline connection is fixed, say so at the outset. Build a backup around those commitments instead of assuming every part of the journey will shift together.

Ask about the update process

Establish who will contact you, the best number to use, and when the next update is expected. A consumer weather app is not an operating decision. The responsible operator and crew assess whether and how the flight can proceed.

Read the cancellation terms in context

Blackcomb’s published FAQ distinguishes guest cancellation from cancellation by the operator and describes refunds or credits in specified circumstances. Other providers and products may have different terms. Ask for the conditions attached to your own quotation, including what happens to separately booked accommodation or transfers.

Agree a practical fallback

A useful backup may involve another date, ground transport or an additional night near the departure point. Identify who can approve the change and any extra spending. Keep a short list of contacts available so a changed departure does not become a chain of missed handoffs.

TAKE IT WITH YOU

Before you travel, know who will update you and what you will do if the plan changes.
